Anglican Plus discussions are still going on. Each Sunday is a self contained topic so you can join in anytime.

And...When is a horse trough holy??

Check out the news item and the photos about what happened at Christ Church last Sunday?

The scriptures this week are about sharing God's love: love thy neighbour. I found an article that was really challenging.(just click on the link.)  It was about how willing am I to love my neighbour? Yikes!

The funny bones cartoons and the puzzle are included; a very easy crossword that you could probably do just by reading the clues.

Enjoy and have a blessed week!

Just a reminder that the service of Prayer and Praise is tomorrow Thursday April 25, 7 pm at St George's.

If you loved the Taize service, you will also love Prayer and Praise. Join us.

This week of Connecting Meota I do not have a theme; it's just a collection of feel good posters that I have been collecting and massed them together for your enjoyment and edification.

And, to shake things up a bit, a different kind of puzzle ( but still related to the Gospel).

Have fun.

Don't forget ANGLICAN PLUS.Even if you haven't come yet, please feel free to just drop in.  Alan is a fascinating teacher.

Come for coffee and treats after the service and stay for the session!

St George folk, just tootle down the highway and join us!

Have a blessed week everyone!

This edition of Connecting Meota is action packed.

There is ANGLICAN PLUS - if you missed last week, do not despair, you can join us after Sunday this week.

Hey good people of St George's Church - you may be interested to know that April 22 is St George's Day. There are several articles on St George and his day and the dragon!

And if that weren't enough, the Readings for the coming Sunday are all on the good shepherd and our favourite: the 23rd Psalm!

There is a new puzzle: not a word search, not a crossword, but an anagram. Unscramble and have fun.

Enjoy your Connecting Meota and be blessed!

Dear Meota,

The week after Easter and we are still enthusiastic about our faith.

Coming up this Sunday April 14th is another offering by our leadership for another dive into what our faith means to us.  It is called ANGLICAN PLUS!  These sessions will run on Sundays in April and May.

They will be held at Christ Church after the service and after coffee hour.  ( In the church or in the church house.)  This should give people from St George enough time to tootle down the highway and partake in a rare opportunity to examine what we as Christians believe and how we live it out as Anglicans

In this world of craziness, being solid in our faith is much needed for ourselves, our families and our community.

Check out the cartoons; one always relates to the Sunday Readings somehow. And those silly sheep have another wise- crack!

For Crossword lovers, here is a hard one just for you.

Enjoy and have a blessed week!

There are lovely feel good posters and a kindness quote by Nelson Mandela.

In the Readings, Doubting Thomas is at it again and those silly theological sheep have a witty cartoon about it.

Read and enjoy!

Yes it's that time; it's DAYLIGHT SAVINGS THIS WEEKEND.

On Saturday evening, spring your clock forward one hour.

In this week's edition of Connecting Meota there are some daylight savings jokes, a pastor, priest and rabbi joke, a Senior's version of a favourite childhood hymn, and a list of Meota events.

You can still pop onto ZOOM Wednesday at 7 pm to find out what Generous Living can mean. And, put March 23rd on your calendar for the movie THE ROBE. It will deepen your appreciation for Easter and it's a feel good movie, so you will go home in a good mood.

Have a blessed week!

The favourite hymn highlighted this week is not a traditional hymn, but rather a country and western song by Kris Kristofferson. I have put in a link; click on it and a you tube video will pop up. It's an interview with Kris Kristofferson and how God touched his life and is the background to the song.  I really encourage you to take the 6 minutes to watch the video and hear the song. It was #1 on the charts!!

Readings this week - again, very familiar: the Ten Commandments.

And I could not resist a ten commandment crossword puzzle and two very corny jokes!

Reminder, two more opportunities for contemplation during Lent

                    - Zoom conversation with Alan Wednesday at 7.

                   - Prayer and Praise Thursday, 7 pm, St George's.

All for you in this week's Connecting Meota!

God Bless,

Happy Valentine's Day and Happy Ash Wednesday - reminder of the service Wednesday evening 7 pm St George's = a thoughtful way to begin Lent.

Many events coming your way; check out the announcements in Connecting Meota. Choose one or two ( or three!) to help you draw closer to God this season.

Please set aside Sunday Feb 25th, 10:30 am,  ONE SERVICE at St. George's followed by lunch and the AGM.  Your attendance would be much appreciated.

The Readings for this Sunday are both familiar and significant and the theological sheep have a commentary on the Gospel.

I have been told that the puzzles and word searches are too easy. So.... a tougher one this week!!

As we enter this time of Lent, may God touch your heart with His Truth and Love.

Have a great week!
