this newsletter is for family and friends of our three churches that make up the Meota Parish.

This week is ALL THINGS ADVENT.

Why the Advent Wreath, how to make one at home, the prayers for each week of Advent, (print off the specific pages, 5 and 6,  to use for the four Sundays in Advent); there's the names of the Advent Candles and their colours, the Advent foodbank project, the Advent Service of Christmas Carols, as well as Advent humour and cartoons!!!

This week's newsletter is one of reporting.

There are photos from our Remembrance Sunday.

Alongside Hope is our Anglican charity for world relief. There is a thank you letter for our fundraiser and donation which includes a personal note from one of the recipients of Alongside Hope support!!!

There is a report on the joint field trip between Alongside Hope and the Canadian Foodgrains Bank.

There are photos of our Ladies' Guild preparing your Christmas card!! If you didn't get a Christmas Card from Meota Parish last year, then please email your name and address to meotaparish@gmail.com and we will add you to the list!!!

This is the  REMEMBRANCE DAY edition of our weekly newsletter. Click the link above to open the attachment.

The most important announcement is ONE SERVICE at Christ Church November 9th, 10:30. It is our Remembrance Sunday service, followed by a potluck lunch.

The three churches, St James, St George's and Christ Church all came together last Friday evening for fun and fundraising. 

The event was a success and with the admission, door prizes and cash donations we raised $1986.25 for the Anglican charity, Alongside Hope. 

From our hearts, we say THANK YOU, THANK YOU  to everyone who helped out, gave time and talent and who spent money for the cause.

BABIES  are pretty cute and we have Baptism photos in this edition of Connecting Meota!!!  Also, we have a YWAM mention and photos from the successful craft fair!

This SATURDAY, the Alpha course begins. come and give you faith a boost.

TICKETS are still available for the Dinner and Show Friday Oct 10th, 7 pm, with music by Martyn, food by our church ladies, and door prizes ( bring your loonies and twonies.) 

In the edition, there are readings, prayers, funnies and puzzles, ENJOY!

LOTS  of announcements.

CRAFT FAIR At St George's this Saturday 10 - 4 pm.  Come and Christmas shop, get some home baking and support the projects of our little church.

Hum along to the 60's tune, laugh at some comedic moments and be awed by some magic tricks.. All this on October 10, 7 pm at Christ Church as a fundraiser for Anglican World Relief and Development. Bring you loonies and twonies for prizes!!

Sell those tickets by bringing a friend!!

The Readings this week include a favourite - Psalm 91.

Big Reminder - Sunday Aug 31 is the fifth Sunday in the month. That means all the churches gather together for ONE SERVICE for worship and BBQ! It is St George's turn to host everyone.

PLEASE  remind the people you see on Sunday that it's St George's Aug 31st - one service.

PLEASE  phone people you know that you didn't see in church on Sunday to meet everyone at St George's Aug 31st.

Burgers, hot dogs, buns and condiments provided. Please consider bringing a salad or dessert. Thanks!!!!
