Oilfields Food Bank Update - February 2022

During the past year we provided 476 food hampers. That thanks to your continued support and generosity during 2021 we fed 667 adults & 389 children. We had 27 first-time users. We fed 46% more children in 2021 than in 2020.  We saw an increase in need of 25%.

We continue to see the numbers trend upward. January 2022 we did 39 hampers & fed 77 adults & 45 children.  We are feeding more families than ever. 

Sky-rocketing inflation, increases in the cost of utilities, gas & food are affecting everyone.  Regardless of income level, all of us are feeling the pinch & those who have stretched their dollar as far as possible need our help to get through these tough times.

We are able to provide this care because we are part of such a caring, sharing community.

2022 Membership Fees Due

Thinking about becoming a member? We'd love to have you. Members have a vote & can help guide our direction for the upcoming year.

Any person who resides in Alberta and is 18 years or older, may become a member by paying an annual fee of $5.00. See our website for more information about how to join and pay your membership fees.

Please join us for World Day of Prayer, a prayer movement that invites us to enrich our faith experience with the experience of Christians from other countries and cultures, and to bring hope to women touched by injustice.  This year, the service was written by the World Day of Prayer Committee of England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

I am a Okotoks resident who Last year released my first Cd Called peace hope and comfort. It's gospel hymns that I enjoy playing on my keybord and i am sharing with the community simply becuase i feel that this is what god wants me to do and to bring some postive hope to a very dark world and if there are any People in or at your chruch that would apprecate a Qr code please let me know i am willing to drop it off leave it in there mailbox or leave A QR code on there Front step Please let e know if any of your chruch members would like one i feel in these times of uncerty i feel this is when we need Christ more and need to read his word and worship and i have found that playing christian music has touched me in a way no other music has and i am Greatful for everyone supporting this huge project i didn't know God was going to make this Project this big i feel it is not about the money going to Faims that matters i just care and wanted to help these people get through these hard times If anyone of those people would still like a copy they can email me at mltlifts@gmail.com The website to dontate is www.faims.org Donations are greatly apprecated
Us claints at Faims work really hard and we are proud of what we do we may have a disabilty but there still is a lot that we can do to make a diffrance
Please coute to be strong Please know that God has your back even when others don't get it Jesus cares for you and he wants you to know that he loves you and wants you to trust him with your life There are many times people ask me how do you stay postive so much it's becuase christ has done everything for me on the cross of calvry and i will never forget what he has done and cotues to do i know i could have died in that hospital in 1995 at foothils in calgary i ddn't becuase God was there for me and is still living in me to this very day I am So Greatful god has given me so much life and so much to be grateful for and i am willing to trust him and lean on him hope you and your chruch members are doing well and staying heathy please know that i will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers as you make choices that affect your whole parish

Oyen's Christmas Pageant

Pastoral Care Training - Waiting List -

Offering of Pastoral Care training for January 2022.

Do you have an interest, calling or are just curious about Pastoral Care? Maybe you want to be better equipped to support your church community, or friends or even your own family. We are all called to care and care deeply, as we are able, with one another.

This could be a “brush up” opportunity or time for skill refreshing.

There will be some reading and/or reflecting as preparation for each of the evenings. There might be learning through new information, sharing and skill development.

This course, which begins on Tuesday evenings January 18 – March 1, 2022, 6:30 pm – 8:45 pm, has currently reached its maximum capacity of 15 people, however a waiting list is being taken. If there is a great desire to add a second course, there is possibility. One way to determine that would be by creating interest on a waiting list. This can be done by contacting pastoralcare@calgary.anglican.ca
