ALBERTA WILDFIRES: Sending Help for Alberta Families

As wildfires continue to burn across Alberta, some evacuated families are being allowed to return home. Samaritan’s Purse is sending recovery supplies and relief teams to help in Jesus’ Name.

“People are coming back to communities, uncertain of what they will find,” said Brent Davis, disaster response director for Samaritan’s Purse Canada. “Some have had their properties severely damaged or destroyed by flames. Others are returning to houses saturated with smoke and ashes.”

One hundred heavy-duty cleaning kits have gone to East Prairie Metis Settlement, Alberta, to help residents clean contaminated homes. Samaritan’s Purse teams are also on the ground, working with several First Nation and Metis communities, including Fox Lake, to provide cleanup and recovery support as evacuation orders lift.

As we coordinate with provincial and local authorities, additional teams and equipment—including our Disaster Relief Unit tractor trailers—are on standby to respond further.

Please keep praying for these families, the firefighters battling the blazes, and our teams as they share God’s love and
help residents return home.

Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
Galatians 6:2
