Lots this week.

- A zoom course on how to think about church in new ways to meet the challenges of our day.  Reimagining Church. 

The leaders would like a small group from participating churches to enhance your experience. We need one more person from Christ Church to join us. Please see poster in the newsletter for details.

- CRAFT FAIR- to support St George's. Quality crafts make great presents. Get your Christmas shopping done early.

- People have been asking questions about God so Ven Alan has put together a Book Study on the nature of God. See inside for details.

- Blessing of the Animals - we have not done this service since Covid. Please see dates and info on pets in the newsletter. 

- People in our congregation need prayer. If you are ill or facing a hard time, please know that we are praying for you!! Please reach out to our clergy for support. meotaparish@gmail.com

What about church growth? Lots of churches are talking about it, so the Diocese is having a course REIMAGINING CHURCH.  One person has signed up for sure. If we got several people all learning the same thing, we could share with our congregations and see what difference we can make.  Think about it and sign up!!

The history of Labour Day is included this week, announcement about the craft fair, and a prayer for the sick, as some of our congregation are facing health challenges; please pray.

There is a prayer for grandchildren and, for your amusement, zucchini jokes.

Greetings to the good people of Christ Church, St George's and St James.

Announcing that Aug 23 ( this coming Sunday) there will be ONE SERVICE for all the churches and we will gather at St George's at 10:30 am for worship with a BBQ to follow. 

The service of Praise and Prayer is Thursday Aug 27, see attachment for details. 

The Readings for this week take us into the story of Moses, see the poster, the word search and Funny Bones.  And if you love peaches, there is a nice Peach Cobbler recipe this week.

Happy summer to the lovely family, friends and visitors of Christ Church, St George's and St James.

This week, two familiar stories.

The Old testament reading for Sunday is good old Joseph and his coat of many colours and his jealous brothers.

The New Testament reading is Jesus walks on water and so does Peter... well for a few minutes anyway.

We celebrated this weekend - Flower Festival and 130 anniversary of Christ Church Pt2.

This newsletter is full of photos of the weekend's events.

Flowers, Tea, Heartland Fans, costumes, Sunday service, reunions, and the dedication of the refurbished Sculpture Garden courtesy of the Ladies Guild.

Thank you to everyone who helped out.  So many of you gave of your time and energy to make this one of the best celebrations ever!

Hear ye, Hear ye, good people of the three churches of Meota Parish.

Flower Festival is upon us. Saturday- don't miss out on fresh baked scones, homemade strawberry preserves with real whipped cream, and tea in a fine china cup.  $10.00 per person!

If the weather permits, Doug will give us a fly by in his vintage airplane around noon!

Sunday -the special Flower Festival Service  and a BAS service to celebrate 130 years of Christ Church.

Two announcements-

June 6 - this coming Saturday - come to  Discovery Days in the Turner Valley park and cheer on the hosts of our St George's booth. Drop by the church parking lot for a hot dog!

July 11 - Flower Festival  at Christ Church - pass along the news of fresh baked scones, homemade strawberry preserves and tea from a china tea cup for a nominal fee! 

 The quaint log church and mountain view are free!

Sunday May 10th 10:30 am at Christ Church - the celebration of its 130th Anniversary. One Service for all the churches of Meota Parish.

In the spirit of 1896 - 

Ladies are invited to wear a "bonnet" or hat and men are invited to wear a bolo tie or old fashioned tie.
